Stripes with a Pop

Striped Dress sold out similar HERE, HERE and HERE// Cardigan // Nude Pumps, more affordable option HERE // Clutch (last season) love THIS // Gold Necklace // Watch // Bracelet

I love navy and white stripes in the summer time. The nautical look is so classic and timeless and can always be dressed up or down. Stripes are fun to play with. You can add a simple cardigan (like above) or you can add a floral scarf for a fun fashion statement. A striped navy dress is the perfect staple to have this summer!

Red Lace

Red Lace Top // White Jeans // Red Lace-up Flats  love THESE too // Fringe Turquoise Earrings

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! If you have been keeping up with my posts, you know that I have been going crazy with the drab, rainy, cool weather here in Ohio. FINALLY the weather broke and the weekend was absolutely beautiful! I have been dying to wear some of my new spring tops and dresses and was finally able to break them out!
I adore this red lace top from Jcrew Factory. The fit is so flattering, the color is so vibrant, and the lace gives it that perfect feminine touch. I love red and turquoise together so I paired this top with a pair of my favorite turquoise fringe earrings for that extra pop.
What are your favorite color combos for spring? If you would like to see any, please let me know!

Spring Facelift

Whenever there is a change of season I crave new makeup. (lets face it I crave new everything... new clothes, new shoes, new decor for the house...) Sometimes I try products and they are a complete bust, but I wanted to share my most recent Sephora purchases because I have been SO happy with them! (by the way don't mind the the Urban Decay case, I totally dropped it and nicked the heck out of it)

Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea. I absolutely LOVE this foundation because it's chemical free, and made up of 20 percent water, so my skin feels smooth and moisturized. After applying, I felt like my skin had such a natural, pretty glow and was overall evened out.

The foundation comes with a dropper, so I use THIS brush to apply to my face. I love this brush because it helps the foundation go a long way on my face and helps apply it evenly.

I always have a tough time finding a bronzer that looks natural and not cakey or orangey.
Too Faced is perfect for me because it gives me that subtle, natural glow. I wear milk chocolate, and yes it actually smells like chocolate!

NARS has some of my favorite blushes, however my ultimate favorite, no-fail color is orgasm. (ha, i know...) The color is so pretty and honestly looks so good on all skin tones. I especially love this color during the spring and summer months.

I am definitely a lipstick girl, but lately I have been feeling subtle pink glosses for a softer look. This Anastasia lipgloss in peony is so pretty and feminine on. The color has just enough pink without looking to bubblegum or Barbie like.

Urban Decay's Naked 2 eye shadow palette is the best. This palette will last you forever so its totally worth the money. The variety of colors are actually wearable, and mix so well together. I am always creating different looks mixing the different shadows. This is a must buy.

Hope you are all having a great week and can try some of this fun makeup for spring!

The Perfect Event Dress

Gown Jill Stuart / Turquoise Earrings similar HERE

This spring and summer we have a lot of events and family weddings. I always love to utilize Rent the Runway because I get to wear beautiful designer gowns without having to spend the full price (especially since I know I'll only wear it once). I absolutely love this Jill Stuart hot pink gown. The one shoulder with cape is so elegant, and the color screams spring and summer. This dress really looks beautiful on all shapes, and looks so pretty paired with turquoise accessories. If you need a dress for an event, I would definitely give this one a try.
* If you have never rented a dress from Rent the Runway before, make sure you check out the pictures that real women post of themselves in the dress. It's really helpful and pretty spot on when trying to figure out how the dress would look on your body type.

Talk Derby to Me

Bruce's Pink Pants/ Bruce's Gingham Button-Up/ Navy Blazer is part of a suite/ Pink Bow Tie

Over the weekend we celebrated the Derby with some of our closest friends. It's a day long affair starting at our besties Stef and Joe's home. They go all out with Kentucky Derby inspired drinks, appetizers, and decor. Everyone gets all dressed up in pretty dresses, hats, and fascinators. Even the guys go all out. From there we go to another Derby party downtown at the Toledo Art Museum. (This year the party was at the Glass Pavilion) There the party continues with derby drinks, food, music, a fashion contest, and of course we end the party actually watching the Derby.
It was such an amazing weekend. If you haven't celebrated the Derby before, I suggest you get some friends together and do so next year!
On a side note, I apologize for my delay of posts! Things have been non-stop lately but I promise I will have new posts up next week!

Spring's Must Have Cardigan

Long Cardigan / White Tee/ Jeans/ Lace-up Heels (last season) love THESE and THESE/ Gold Fringe Earrings older love THESE

Long Cardigans are huge for spring. They look adorable paired with jeans and lace up booties, or a pair of cut-offs and a tank. The look is care-free, yet stylish. This long cardi would also be cute over a basic dress and heels for the office. This is an inexpensive, transitional piece that you should definitely add to your wardrobe this spring!
On a side note I found the best foundation at Sephora over the weekend, and its all natural. I can't wait to do a review post on it soon.
Hope you are having a great week!

Fuchsia with Cobalt Accents

Fuschia Blouse/ Black Ankle Pants/ Cobalt Blue Heels/ Cobalt Blue Jacket (older) but can buy it HERE/ Bag/ Earrings (older) absolutely love THESE

The weather has been absolutely crazy here in Ohio... pretty chilly and rainy, which has been messing with all of my new spring outfits! I have found it key to layer, and layer in bright colors. (so i still can get my fill of spring)
I always think of blue has a staple. It looks so pretty paired with different colors and is a good diversion from basic black. I paired cobalt blue with fuschia, but cobalt also looks so pretty with mint, purple, yellow, or orange. Give the combo a try this week... and have fun mixing other bright colors.
