Regardless if you are a "girly girl" or not, there is just something about the way you feel as a woman when you put on a great dress, or a fabulous pair of heels, or a gorgeous piece of jewelry. Maybe it's just me, but I feel myself standing taller and feeling more confident. Embrace your feminine side this week and pull out your favorite dress, or favorite statement piece of jewelry. Here are a few feminine looks to try...

My story behind "Pin Money"
Webster's dictionary defines pin-money as "money that is used for small expenses."
The phrase "pin-money" derived from the small allowance that 19th century husbands would give their wives to pay for dressing-making pins.
My definition of "pin-money" comes from my grandmother. My grandmother's version of pin money is quite contrary to the traditional meaning. My grandmother, divorced, with children did not depend on anyone to hand her the money that she needed to buy the things she wanted in life. Instead, she opened a second hand store called "The Pin Money Shop." Calling the store "second-hand" seems wrong. The Pin Money Shop was filled with the most beautiful, high-end clothing, donated by the most well-to-do women of the area. My grandmother's shop gave everyday women the opportunity to feel like the first lady, everyday, at second hand prices. At such a young age, I remember what an impact this store made on everyday women of the area.
I want to do the same for you...in a modern day way. This blog will share ideas for "the everyday woman" who wants to look and feel beautiful without spending a fortune. This is my version of "The Pin Money Shop" this is my My Pin Money.

3 Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas
Valentine's Day... The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages when the tradition of courtly love flourished. By the 15th century, it had evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines").(Wikipedia). I am not sure if it's the pink and red decorations, or just the thought of love in the air, but I have always loved Valentine's day. There is just something about knowing that love is being shared whether it be through significant others, friends, siblings, parents, grandparents, or whoever you feel close to. This Valentine's day celebrate, regardless of who you are with. Below are three Valentine's day looks. The first is going from the office to meet for dinner or a drink, the second is for a casual breakfast or lunch date, and the third is for a romantic dinner date. Remember to always put your own spin on your outfit, but here are some examples to get your started. Much love to all of you and Happy Valentine's Day!

Back to the BASICS...
Whether it comes to fashion, work, food, fun, anything in life, it seems like we are always looking for the "next best thing." We are a fast paced society and sometimes it can become very exhausting to keep up. When we are ahead of ourselves, we tend to lose track of the things that we have always loved. In saying that, I want to celebrate through a fashion standpoint the most basic item that everyone has in their closet, THE T-SHIRT. A t-shirt can be one of the most flattering and sexy items that any woman can have. Plus, the options are endless. Take a look at what items to pair with one of the most basic items you own while still feeling fresh, put together, stylish, and sexy.
Find a tee like this from Target for only $8.00. These tees come in all types of colors, and have a deep V, which creates a very sexy look. Best of all, they are super soft and comfortable.
Find this statement necklace at Forever 21 for $11.80, Boho layered charm necklace at Forever 21 for $3.80, Pink bold Geo color block scarf at Target for $14.99, Biker jacket at H&M for $49.95, Hayth pumps at Aldo for $80, Chanel nail polish for $15, and Colored jeans at Old Navy for $34.94 |
